Parents are keen to save money on family holidays during the credit crunch, according to the latest research.
A poll of 1,250 adults by web TV travel site Holiday '09 found over half said they would be seeking advice on how to spend less when booking a break next year.
More than a quarter of respondents claimed they would be looking into a British holiday, while one in ten said camping was their preferred choice.
Ceriann Mullins, editor of Holiday '09, commented the current economic crisis has led to consumers searching for "openness, transparency and interactivity" from a travel agent.
The research also found one in three parents are willing to take their children out of school in order to find a cheaper deal, while 60 per cent of participants claimed they do not trust travel brochures to offer the best options.
Elsewhere, holiday firms Eurocamp and Keycamp have both recently revealed healthy sales and occupancy figures.
