Camping can help families 'get back to basics'

People can use camping to get back to basics and enjoy nature, rather than going to holiday parks.
Stephen Bleach, writing in the Times, states the best type of camping is "in a farmer's field, with a water tap, a shower block, gorgeous scenery and not much else", which may also be a cheaper option than going to a manufactured site.
He admits the biggest expenses for first-time campers will be the tent, but this need not be a bank breaker, with Millets selling a four-person tent, sleeping bags, two roll mats and an airbed for £90.
Asda also recently released a tent for sale for £8, which may be good for basic camping, according to the Press Association.
Mr Bleach also advises on good locations, saying the Cloud Farm in Exmoor is a nice spot, which has an informal system of no bookings and no set pitches.
Robin Hood's Bay, near Whitby, is described as having "panoramic views" and is cheaper at £4 for adults and £2 for children.
