Holidaymakers planning their summer trips may be interested to know that camping is "cool" again, according to an expert.

The editor of the Cool Camping guide book series, Jonathan Knight, said the rise of luxury and boutique camping has made it a more popular option for holidaymakers.

He explained: "What that means is that if people can decide on their own level of comfort then it makes it more interesting."

Commenting on camping coming back into fashion, Mr Knight said: "It's always really been a cool thing to do amongst a minority...but now it's amongst the majority."

According to the Camping and Caravanning Club, a growing number of people interested in having a 'green' holiday are enjoying the British countryside in their caravans.

Furthermore, the average age of people going on caravanning holidays has dropped from 60 to 49 as more families opt for this type of break.ADNFCR-1431-ID-18659360-ADNFCR
