Camping offers eco-friendly holiday

Camping and caravanning offer an ideal opportunity to go on a holiday which is environmentally friendly.

According to the Times, going to a family holiday park and staying in a tent or caravan can help reduce your carbon footprint.

Sharon Sweeney, a writer for the newspaper, said her family sampled the idea and began their eco-holiday by taking the train.

The family travelled to Kelling Heath, which has received a David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award and preserves the surrounding woodland and heath.

According to the writer, a variety of eco-conscious activities are on offer, including guided bat walks, star gazing and cycling.

In addition, tennis courts, boules pitches, an adventure playground and an assault course were on offer.

The newspaper reports that stays at the location are available with tent and caravan pitches costing from £29.50 per night.

According to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, caravanning holidays are green options as they offer many activities on site.
