Caravan holidays are becoming more popular in the UK, with Britain's caravan park's reporting a 30 per cent rise in the number of people opting for the getaway.
Haven has reported that rise in visitors for breaks in June and July, saying the low pound against the euro and environmental concerns are driving the market.
The industry has also pointed out that the dated back-to-basics images has been overhauled, with "increasingly improved facilities and sophisticated accommodation" attracting more families.
Haven said the £40 million invested in their 35 British caravan parks last year means they now have stylish kitchens, en-suite showers and comfortable bedrooms.
The parks themselves are also said to be ideal for families, hosting activities like golf, horse-riding, tennis and swimming lessons.
Figures from the National Caravan Council have shown a 20 per cent rise in camp site booking for July and August.
Celebrities like Patsy Palmer and Mark Owen have championed holidays in caravans, with MP Margaret Beckett also being an advocate of the British break.
