Caravan industry set for 'more training'

08/10/2008 11:41:07

Greater levels of training and skills development are set to be offered to those within the caravan industry, it is claimed.

A joint-initiative between Caravan Industry Training and SkillsActive is set to benefit caravanners, according to the groups.

Part of the scheme will see caravan parks and sites offered training which will fit in with government levels.

Elaine Clowes, chair of SkillsActive, comments: "We are delighted by the growing investment in training and skills within caravan businesses, and SkillsActive is totally committed to ensuring that the industry's training needs are met."

The associations are also set to co-operate in a campaign with the Institute of the Motor Industry, according to National Caravan Council chairman Peter Draper.

Mr Draper claims the partnership will "benefit" all concerned.

Earlier this week, it was claimed by the Caravan Club consumers within the industry are a "sociable group", meaning a Christmas stay on a park or camp site is a "wonderful way" to spend the festive period, reported JST Financial. ADNFCR-1431-ID-18816440-ADNFCR
