Caravan owners have been described as a "sociable group" by an industry body.

According to the Caravan Club, a leading association in the sector, newcomers to caravanning will find a warm welcome from fellow enthusiasts, reports JST Financial.

The group's spokesperson added holidaymakers looking for a festive break should consider a caravan trip due to the atmosphere around motorhome and caravan sites during the winter months, with many sites putting on activities and drinks events.

She stated to the news provider: "Caravaners are a very social group of people anyway so it is a great atmosphere when you are on a site over the Christmas period. It is a wonderful way to spend Christmas and the New Year."

Last month, it was claimed by Eurocamp holidaymakers can enjoy a relaxing break if they choose a camping trip.

Ruth Start, head of sales and marketing for the group, told Eurodestination.com tourists can use the off-peak times to book a "relaxed type of holiday".ADNFCR-1431-ID-18814114-ADNFCR
