Caravan owners should "check their policy limits"

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has advised caravan owners to "check their policy limits" and ensure that any expensive items they opt to take on holiday are covered.
A spokesperson for the group said that while the contents of a caravan or motorhome are covered by a home contents insurance policy while static- either outside the owner's home or in a park- people should check that their policy limit for individual items.
She added that flood insurance is "standard on most policies", but regarding insuring vehicles against extreme weather conditions, said: "It's always important to insure things. It looks like we're only going to get more extreme weather conditions with climate change."
This advice follows news that caravanning has seen a burgeoning popularity - becoming the nations' most popular paid for holiday.
According to the Camping and Caravanning Club, 19 per cent more people took to the road for a break last year.
Holiday parks have also noted a growth in visitors, with the British Holiday and Home Parks Association revealing that caravan parks account for 28 per cent of all holiday bed nights in the UK.
Meanwhile, the Welsh Assembly Government has suggested that significant improvements to rail services between north and south Wales could be in place by 2009.
