A holiday park in Devon has launched a plan to go greener, which includes using bio-diesel in the site's vans.
The Devon Cliffs Holiday Park is carrying out many energy saving methods before the summer season begins, reports the Exmouth Journal.
Light bulbs have also been changed in the park's entertainment complex and restaurants, to low-energy alternatives.
It cost an addition £4,500 to change all the caravans' light bulbs to energy efficient ones, but John Ball, the environmental manager for the site, said he expects to recoup the costs in electricity bills over the next 12 months.
Mr Ball, said: "Some 60 per cent of the caravans on the park are privately owned as holiday homes and our next venture will be to try and persuade those owners to switch to low-energy light bulbs, again using the high-quality ones we have already used elsewhere."
The site has also installed water-saving methods in showers and taps.
