One caravan park has won a coveted Enjoy England Award for Excellence, adding to the gold award received two years ago.

The Seafield Caravan Park in Northumberland received a silver award for its services at this year's ceremony, reports the Northumberland Gazette.

Carolyn Britton, the park's owner, said: "The Ocean Club has made Seafield Park a focus within the local community."

She added that the park had made a number of improvements since winning the gold in 2005.

"We have developed the services we provide in the Ocean Club and hope we have been recognised this time for going that extra mile for our guests and for regularly having new ideas which also involve the village."

She added that the award won three years earlier was shortly after the Ocean Club at the park had opened and it was a "huge thrill" to win.

The Ocean Club is attached to the caravan site and has an adult pool, a children's pool and a spa and beauty area.
