Caravanners heading abroad should check policies

As people look to cut back on their spending in the credit crunch, more will choose to take their car and caravan abroad this summer.
But travellers should be prepared for their travels to Europe, with insurance being the first port of call.
MoneyExpert.com has advised people to brush up on their policy details as being without cover can result in hefty fines and repair costs.
The advice website says all cover should protect the motorist on a third-party basis, the minimum required.
However, without a comprehensive policy the driver may not be covered for all medical expenses and their own vehicle's repair costs.
The cover may also be limited to three days outside the UK, meaning longer breaks will not be protected.
Mike Walsh, director of Carcraft, said other potential hazards of driving abroad can be prevented before leaving, by checking things like tyres, oil and water levels and lights and indicators.
