Caravanning 'a green holiday option'

26/06/2008 15:08:08

Caravanning holidays are an ideal option for those looking for an environmentally-friendly getaway.

The Huddersfield Daily Examiner has reported families can do many activities on one site, reducing the need to travel around in cars.

It also reports many sites offer recycling services and look to protect their local environment.

Parks near the beach mean families can enjoy a day out at the seaside and a swim in the sea, without travelling far.

The newspaper also says caravan sites use existing facilities from nature, rather than needing to build on the land, as a hotel would.

Practical Caravan has advised those who want to make their trip even more environmentally friendly can ensure their cars are as green as possible and their activities on holiday are ecologically sound.

Canvas Holidays has recently said camping and caravanning can be used to get back to nature, with over two-thirds of people thinking a sense of wellbeing and freedom are essential to a holiday.
