The Highways Agency is set to provide advice on caravan road safety during the 81st Caravan Club National rally this weekend.
Around 10,000 caravans are expected to attend the event, according to the agency, with many seeing it as the start of the season.
A DVD, fronted by Carole Smilies, which teaches the correct towing precodure will be distributed.
The Fit to Tow feature will be distributed alongside demonstrations and tips on how to maintain the trailer and safety tips.
Roger White, a technical advisor with the Highways Agency, said: "With a simple once-over before you set off, you could avoid breaking down and delaying not only your journey but other road users as well."
He added that caravan owners should be careful when carrying out maintenance on vehicles, especially if it has been left unused for the winter months.
Figures from American Express revealed that a third of all Brits will consider a caravanning holiday this summer.
